New wave of coastal fund­ing avail­able

Ap­pli­ca­tions are open for the State Gov­ern­ment’s 2017-18 coastal grants pro­gram to help plan for and man­age WA’s coast­line.

Plan­ning Min­is­ter Donna Faragher said $600,000 was avail­able to coastal man­agers and com­mu­nity groups through the Coastal Man­age­ment Plan As­sis­tance Pro­gram and Coast­west ini­tia­tive.

Coastal land man­agers can ap­ply for a share of $275,000 CMPAP fund­ing — up to $75,000 per project — to im­ple­ment coastal haz­ard risk man­age­ment and adap­ta­tion plans, and coastal man­age­ment plans.

A to­tal of $325,000 is avail­able in Coast­west grants — up to $50,000 per project — to en­able coastal man­ager and com­mu­nity groups to im­prove the con­di­tion of WA’s coast­line.
