Tech help ses­sions on of­fer at City li­braries

Through­out Fe­bru­ary, sev­eral tech­nol­ogy help and train­ing ses­sions will be tak­ing place at City of Kar­ratha li­braries, to get you started on­line and with the Mi­crosoft suite of soft­ware.

A free adult tech help ses­sion will run at Kar­ratha Li­brary on Wed­nes­day, Fe­bru­ary 8 from 9am.

For this hour, adults are wel­come to bring along their iPad or tablet and learn the ba­sics of how to use it, load some use­ful apps and learn some cy­ber safety tips.

On Thurs­day, Fe­bru­ary 9, the li­brary will hold an MS Ex­cel ba­sics train­ing course from 5pm at a cost of $11 per per­son.

As part of this ses­sion, stu­dents will learn now to cre­ate a spread­sheet, work with cells and bor­ders, insert or delete rows and col­umns, and learn ba­sic for­mu­lae. At Dampier Li­brary on Mon­day, Fe­bru­ary 20, an MS Word Ba­sics ses­sion will be held at 9.30am for $11 per per­son.

The ses­sion will de­tail key­board and mouse skills, how to open and for­mat a new doc­u­ment, make and re­name fold­ers and files, save a file to the com­puter and a USB flash drive, insert and for­mat pic­tures, text boxes and shapes, and how to cre­ate a ba­sic ta­ble.

Book­ings are es­sen­tial for all of these ses­sions, and if re­quired, pay­ment must be made be­fore the class.
