Help needed in inquiry into assault
Exmouth police are seeking public information into an alleged Australia Day assault which left a man hospitalised for serious injuries.
Police allege a 23-year-old man was assaulted by a group of men in a carpark near Exmouth Yacht Club on Friedman Way between 8.30pm and 9pm.
The victim suffered a fractured eye socket, perforated ear drum, nerve damage, and significant bruising to his face.
He was taken to Exmouth Hospital before being transferred to Perth for treatment, but has since been released.
Exmouth police acting Sergeant Ben Croy said police were still seeking information from members of the public about the alleged assault.
They believe several people were in the area at the time and are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
Police would also like to speak to a man who they believe may be able to assist them with inquiries.
He is described as in his early 20s, with a fair complexion and blond hair, approximately 187cm and a solid muscular build.
