One Nation’s Pilbara candidate has written a few controversial things in the past, including calling single mothers “lazy” and claiming homosexuality threatened civilisation.

Talk about the fall of Rome.

Definitely will not be getting my vote! Waste of fresh air!

Lara Smith

Never mind gay marriage, it's stupidity like this that truly undermines civilisation.

Anita Belafonte

He's a special kind of stupid.

Jenny Fay

Not a good choice there Pauline.

Local legend and Pyramid Station manager Glenn Connell announced he would be leaving the Pilbara with his family after 43 years among the red dirt.

Seven years ago me and my girlfriend spent six weeks at Pyramid Station with the Connell family. It made such a big impression on us and I still consider it my best and most genuine travel experience ever. It was the absolute peak of our five months travelling around the west half of the fantastic country that is Australia. I will remember it forever.

Carl Oskar-Persson

Must be a sad day for you to leave the area you obviously have a lot of love for, but a new chapter in your life is

about to start for you and your family. Family is all about change and will be exciting for you all. I myself am waiting for all the new stories and adventures.

Diane Cowen

The Pilbara will never be the same without you.

Logan O’Leary

Wishing you, Catherine and girls all the best. Won't be the same without you there.

Anna Vitenbergs

A true legend, Glenn will be sorely missed.

Daryl Bull

It's not often you meet real characters. I've known Glenn since high school and he is one of a kind. All the best with your new adventure Glenn.

Lisa Becker

Also leaving the Pilbara this month are the Pennys, who brought joy to all who travelled the North West Coastal Highway with their burger bus last year.

Congratulations Joyce and Darryl, things are just meant to be sometimes. Best wishes for the Queen, hopefully we can get down for a visit. Best burgers in town.

Leanne Ball

Good luck guys in Cue will def miss the famous barradale burger with your home made chutney mmmm.

Daniel Clamp

Love these two, they don't make them like that any more.

Leighton Crabb

. Oh no. It won't be the same at all.

Nooooooo not the burger bus!

We posted a pic of Salty the Snowman looking worse for wear out on Anchovy Flats and it was clear people want something done.

I wish somebody would do a sculptures in the salt comp and get a whole heap of new ones and clear out the junk!

I love the Anchovy Flat art but it would be great if the creators removed them once they got a bit tired.
