Pedal power to beat blues

A Perth school­boy will set off on a pedal-pow­ered ad­ven­ture from the man­sions of Mos­man Bay to the man­tas of Coral Bay to raise aware­ness of men’s men­tal health is­sues.

Year 11 stu­dent Ni­co­las Charn­ley will take on the 1125km ride from April 8 and is aim­ing to ride about 100km a day.

Ni­co­las said he was inspired to take up the chal­lenge after a school visit by men­tal health char­ity be­yond­blue.

He will be giv­ing up his April school hol­i­days to un­der­take the ride, camping on the road­side while his fa­ther shad­ows him in a sup­port ve­hi­cle.

Ni­co­las said he was seek­ing sup­port to help raise funds and aware­ness for be­yond­blue.
