Ap­pli­ca­tions now open for re­gional arts funds

Coun­try Arts WA has opened the fi­nal round of ap­pli­ca­tions for Re­gional Arts Legacy Grants.

Re­gional artists, not-for-profit or­gan­i­sa­tions and lo­cal gov­ern­ments are en­cour­aged to ap­ply for fund­ing, small or large, for art projects or pro­grams of any form.

The fi­nal round has a to­tal pool of $173,868, to be de­liv­ered over up to two years. Ap­pli­ca­tions are open un­til Fri­day, March 3.

Coun­try Arts WA chief ex­ec­u­tive Paul MacPhail said more than 25 peo­ple, arts or­gan­i­sa­tions and projects from all over the State had been sup­ported by the RALG since its in­cep­tion a year ago.

“We would like this last round of RALG fund­ing to nur­ture the abun­dance of emerg­ing tal­ent and help meet the cul­tural needs of those re­gional and re­mote com­mu­ni­ties,” he said.

“Cre­at­ing thriv­ing com­mu­ni­ties has many tan­gi­ble spin-offs in­clud­ing the abil­ity to at­tract and re­tain new res­i­dents, skilled work­ers, new in­vest­ment and tourism, all of which help to stim­u­late growth and the lo­cal econ­omy.” For in­for­ma­tion on how to ap­ply for the Re­gional Arts Legacy Grants, con­tact the re­gional arts de­vel­op­ment co-or­di­na­tor at the Coun­try Arts WA of­fice on re­gional freecall 1800 811 883 or 9200 6200.
