Pi­rates sink Sharks as Krak­ens share spoils with lead­ers

The Pi­rates con­tin­ued to dom­i­nate in round 15 of Kar­ratha wa­ter polo de­spite some tight con­tests and fierce play.

The Pi­rates women made short work of the Sharks, putting them away 12-2.

Bon­nie Kaest­ner dom­i­nated the score­board for the Pi­rates and was sup­ported by Sally Linn and Por­tia An­gove.

The Krak­ens women faced the lad­der-lead­ing Bar­racu­das in a nail­biter that ended in a 6-6 draw.

Sarah St­in­ton, Kate Kala­jzich and Laura Hill played well.

The Krak­ens men put up a good fight against the Pi­rates, but it wasn’t enough to get them over the line, go­ing down 8-5.

Justin An­gove led the scor­ing for the Pi­rates, sup­ported by Aaron Day, and Richard Gre­gory had a solid game for the Krak­ens after a two-week break.

The Krak­ens men were back in the pool for the dou­ble-header against the Bar­racu­das. Char­lie Re­gan, the new kid on the block for the Krak­ens, had a sen­sa­tional game, notch­ing two goals and plenty of as­sists, but it wasn’t enough against a fully loaded Bar­racu­das side, with Krak­ens go­ing down 11-8 at the fi­nal siren.

Dan Ped­er­son, Nick Stu­art and Rhys Knight all had solid per­for­mances for the Bar­racu­das.
