Young City of Karratha residents will be able to sample a wide range of sports in their area with the return of the FutureClubs Junior Sports Expo next month.

Club representatives will host drills and games for Karratha and Wickham children aged 6-15 ahead of the winter sport season.

Sport on offer will vary by locathe tion, but both will include football, rugby and hockey.

City of Karratha Mayor Peter Long said the expo, which was in its fourth year, was an important part of the City’s club development program because it encouraged the next generation to embrace local sport.

“These junior sport expos are an excellent way for parents to give their children a taste of the codes and clubs on offer in the city, all at same time and in the one space,” he said.

“We are lucky enough to have an ever-increasing number of dedicated coaches and players working hard to build their code or club.”

The expo will be in Karratha on Friday, March 17 from 3.30pm7.30pm on the Karratha Leisureplex Oval, and in Wickham the following day from 8am-11.30am at Wickham Oval. To register, go to karratha.wa.gov.au.
