Prodigy step on gas to rout Schoolers
Men’s B-grade team the Prodigy continued to prove themselves a dangerous team in round 18 of basketball on Thursday with a big win over the capable Schoolers.
While Schoolers played hard and more or less kept pace with them throughout the first half, Prodigy fired up in the second and ran rampant around their opponents, demonstrating strong defensive skills along with their usual fast-and furious offensive play.
They went on to win by 20 points, 47-27.
The Redbacks were thrilled to notch up a rare win against rivals the Pelicans, digging deep to get a crucial few points out in front in the last five minutes and win by six points.
The Heat and Flakers faced off with Heat coming out on top, while Vipers defeated Cardinals 38-27.
In men’s A-grade, Mayuga Majik led for most of their game, but a concentrated late offensive from Trouts School suddenly had the two teams neck-and-neck in the last five minutes.
The Majik kept up their pace against the onslaught though and fired off a few more shots of their own to keep them in the lead, ultimately taking the game 23-18.
Coral Trouts impressed in an exciting and high-scoring game against Pardoo Katz, in which they came back to eventually win, 54-46.
Meanwhile, some precise shooting helped the Pistons get a comfortable win over #Yogetit, 32-19.
Women’s A-grade team Pegy Flyers had their second win of the season against Mud Flaps, trumping them by 10 points, while Hello Trouts outscored Falcons in a skilled and high-pressure game from both sides.
In women’s B-grade, Dribblers won against Goat Trouts, and Sinners recovered from a late charge from Lady Falcons to come away with a three point win.
