Pilbara farmers affected by wild weather resulting in flooding are eligible to access the WA Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements fund.

The fund has been set up to assist those who have been affected by the recent heavy rainfall, which has caused damage Statewide.

WA Farmers president Tony York said while experiencing rain ahead of seeding was a positive to some degree, heavy rains often resulted in loss of topsoil and uneven paddocks, causing a need for work to be done to prepare the land in time for the upcoming season. Local government authorities in the Swan, Mid West, Wheatbelt, Goldfields-Esperance, Kimberley, Pilbara and Great Southern have access to WANDRRA, which is funded by the State and Federal Governments and administered by the Office of Emergency Management.
