Bail on sex counts
A man charged with child sex offences has been granted bail in Karratha Magistrate’s Court.
The 53-year-old man appeared before court last week charged with sexual penetration of a child under 13, indecently recording a child under 13, indecent dealings with a child under 13 and procuring a child under 13 to do an indecent act.
The offences were allegedly committed against a five-year-old child in December 2016.
Police prosecutor Paul Kershaw opposed bail, telling the court police had concerns for the safety of the young alleged victim.
Magistrate Joe Randazzo granted the man bail subject to protective conditions including not contacting the alleged victim, staying with a responsible member of the community and reporting to Karratha police daily.
