Pilbara Greens candidate Brent McKenna has been charged with damaging public property over party logos found spray-painted on City of Karratha pavements last month.

Spray-painted tags of the Greens logo appeared on footpaths outside Wickham Newsagency, Roebourne post office and Karratha City Shopping Centre on February 16 morning.

Roebourne police last week charged Mr McKenna with three counts of damaging property by graffiti. He is next due to appear in Karratha Magistrate’s Court on April 4.

Greens MLC for Mining and Pastoral Robin Chapple repeated the Greens’ previous comments that the party did not condone the alleged actions of Mr McKenna.

He said Mr McKenna remained the Greens candidate for last Saturday’s election as the nomination date had closed.
