This Friday at 7pm Moonrise Cinema will be featuring the critically acclaimed and award-winning film Lion.

Adapted from the incredible true story A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley, the film features five-year-old Saroo as he gets lost on a train that takes him thousands of kilometres across India, away from home and family. Saroo must learn to survive alone in Kolkata, before ultimately being adopted by an Australian couple.

Twenty-five years later, armed with only a handful of memories, his unwavering determination, and a revolutionary technology known as Google Earth, he sets out to find his lost family and finally return to his first home.

Moonrise Cinema sold out of the newly released sequel Fifty Shades Darker in record time, so it will be screening again on Friday, March 24, at 7pm.

We pick up where we left off with a wounded Christian trying to entice a cautious Anastasia back into his life. She demands a new arrangement before she will give him another chance.

As the two begin to build trust and find stability, shadowy figures from Christian’s past start to circle the couple, determined to destroy their hopes for a future together.
