Bail has been denied to a man charged in relation to a violent home invasion in Peg’s Creek last month.

Mark Anthony Ibardaloza, 28, from Peg’s Creek, was remanded in custody after his arrest on charges of grievous bodily harm, aggravated home burglary and property damage, but applied for bail in Karratha Magistrate’s Court last week.

Police allege Mr Ibardaloza, with two other men, broke into a Peg’s Creek home where they slashed the throat of a 32-year-old man with a machete and bashed him.

Magistrate Richard Huston said he refused bail because of the seriousness of the alleged offence.

A co-accused, Nathan Anthony Oakley, 28, from Wickham, was also remanded in custody after appearing before court by video link last week.

His Legal Aid lawyer Brooke Sojan said her client was likely to make a bail application at his next appearance before the court.
