Young­ster to fly flag for Pil­bara

A small but speedy Kar­ratha motocross rider is gear­ing up to make his de­but rep­re­sent­ing the Pil­bara at a State level.

Start­ing from this week­end, 10-year-old Kai Pratt will be com­pet­ing in the WA Motocross Ju­nior State Se­ries, a Statewide com­pe­ti­tion that will see him travel to tracks all over WA in­clud­ing Kal­go­or­lie, Bun­bury and Col­lie and rid­ing against some of the best young motocross rid­ers in the State.

Kai is set to race on a 65cc dirt bike and will be the youngest com­peti­tor tak­ing part in his 10-12 year-old age group.

The motocross ju­nior will also have to bal­ance his State Se­ries ef­fort with rid­ing in the North West Mo­tor­cy­cle As­so­ci­a­tion’s re­gional race se­ries, which be­gan in New­man at the week­end.

Kai’s mother Kate Pratt thanked the many local or­gan­i­sa­tions that had sup­ported her son’s com­pet­i­tive ef­forts. To fol­low Kai’s progress, like the Face­book page Kai Pratt — Athlete.
