Group fight charges

A group fight in­volv­ing about 100 peo­ple in Roe­bourne last Sun­day af­ter­noon has re­sulted in seven peo­ple be­ing charged.

Roe­bourne po­lice were forced to call in ex­tra re­sources to break up the large fight, be­lieved to be the re­sult of feud­ing, which erupted about 12.30pm on Lock­yer Way in Roe­bourne.

It is be­lieved no one was sig­nif­i­cantly in­jured.

Six peo­ple have been charged with dis­or­derly be­haviour in pub­lic and an­other per­son is fac­ing charges of pos­sess­ing a weapon.

Roe­bourne po­lice of­fi­cer-in-charge Se­nior Sergeant Gemma Hen­ni­gan said fights of this size broke out oc­ca­sion­ally in town and it was dis­ap­point­ing to see it hap­pen again.

She said po­lice would not tol­er­ate the be­haviour.
