Croc canal

Pilbarian Tim Ryan has come up with the solution to Western Australia’s shocking GST deal.

On one of many Facebook stories about the fair-share goods and service tax fight last week, Tim came up with this genius idea to help spur on the long-awaited WA secession.

“Perhaps we could dig a 100km canal along our border and they can apply for visas to visit our State,” he said.

“It would be full of crocs and whites in no time.”

We agree Tim, and like Donald Trump pushing to have Mexico fund his border wall, we say the east coast should pay for our toothy canal.

They have plenty of our GST dollars to fund it.

Pollie punt

Kevin Michel is finding his feet as Labor’s newly minted Pilbara MLA, having spent his first week at his Parliament House office in Perth.

He has wasted no time getting out in public either.

At the Karratha and Districts RSL ANZAC Day event last month Michel heeded the call to get in the ring as spinner for the the traditional game of two-up.

Like Labor gambling its hopes in the Pilbara on Michel for the State Election, a punt on Michel’s two-up prowess paid off for a few lucky locals.
