A 20-year-old man accused of burglary and sexual assault in Wickham on May 23 faced court last Thursday.

West Pilbara Detectives and Roebourne police charged a man from Baynton with sexual penetration without consent and aggravated burglary.

The man appeared in Karratha Magistrate’s Court, where he applied for and was granted bail.

Magistrate Robert Young said he was prepared to grant bail on the grounds the alleged burglary had not been random, reducing the risk of similar re-offending.

The accused’s bail was subject to strict conditions, including staying away from the alleged victim and the towns of Roebourne and Wickham.
