Schol­ar­ships for min­ing stu­dents

Univer­sity stu­dents are be­ing in­vited to ap­ply for $80,000 worth of schol­ar­ships thanks to the WA Min­ing Club.

The club is hand­ing out seven schol­ar­ships at $10,000 each to WA univer­sity stu­dents study­ing a de­gree that will lead to work­ing in the min­ing in­dus­try.

An ad­di­tional $10,000 is also be­ing of­fered for in­dige­nous stu­dents at high school, TAFE and ap­pren­tices look­ing to start a ca­reer in the min­ing in­dus­try.

On top of the schol­ar­ship money, suc­cess­ful ap­pli­cants will also get free at­ten­dance to WA Min­ing Club lunches in Perth and get to par­tic­i­pate in a men­tor­ing scheme of­fered by in­dus­try co-spon­sors.

The min­ing club is a net­work­ing club with more than 500 mem­bers con­sist­ing of mem­bers from WA’s min­ing com­mu­nity.

Ap­pli­ca­tions can be found at wamin­ing­ing-back/schol­ar­ships/ and close June 30.
