A Baynton man has entered pleas of guilty to two charges stemming from a New Year’s Day home invasion and assault, and will appear before the Supreme Court for sentencing later this year.

Robert Bruce Angus, 56, appeared in Perth Stirling Gardens Magistrate’s Court on charges of aggravated armed robbery and grievous bodily harm, last Wednesday.

He had previously entered pleas of guilty to both charges.

The charges stem from an alleged incident at a Bulgarra home on the evening of January 1, when police claim Angus and three other men assaulted a 28-year-old man, some using weapons, and stole thousands of dollars and other valuables from the property.

The man was taken to hospital as a result of serious facial and body injuries.

Angus has been remanded in custody and is next due to appear before the WA Supreme Court on October 3.
