Captain to return
MUSIC Ill Starred Captain, Saturday, July 22 at Tom Price Hotel Motel, and Thursday, August 3 and Thursday, August 17 at Whalers Restaurant, Exmouth.
Ill Starred Captain are returning to the Pilbara for a series of gigs ahead of the release of their upcoming album, Get Lucid on the Transcendental.
The duo will hit stages in Newman, Port Hedland, Tom Price and Exmouth this month and in August with their folk-punk “surfadelic” tunes.
Singer and guitarist Scott Bassham said the Pilbara and Kimberley had been a huge part of the band’s touring since they started touring out of their home State of South Australia more than 15 years ago.
“The amazing landscapes and fantastic characters we’ve met over the years keep us coming back every winter,” he said.
Drummer Justin Francis said they could not wait to visit their WA friends and play some new music for their fans.
“We’ve been performing for about a decade now in WA and we’ve built a loyal following,” he said.
“The fans, they’ve become a road family.”
Francis said they would be playing a bunch of songs that would feature on their album, due to be released next year.
“It’s a good way to work out which songs work out live when it comes to sorting out track-listing,” he said.
