Sinners 1 edge out Wickham and Storm smash Geckos

What ended up being a very close game between Sinners 1 and Wickham certainly did not start that way.

Sinners began strongly, with Janet Nicholson pitching and Narelle Walton playing a solid game at leftfield. Taking a catch and receiving a lot of the play, Walton proved to be a valuable outfielder and a batter worth watching.

Developing an almost unattainable lead, Sinners were confident on the field.

Wickham waited until the third dig and finally brought in Christine Retchford to pitch.

Retchford quickly struck out three players. Final results had Sinners 1 winning with a score of 22-21.

Storm continued to demonstrate why they are the top of the ladder with a 29-2 win over Geckos.

Nathalie Manado had a great outfield hit that brought home two runners for Geckos.

Kalisa Storey took yet another fantastic catch at first base, shutting down Geckos. With a number of new players, Orbits played a great game and gave Dampier a run for their money, but fell short 13-7.

Amy Gleave, in her first game, took a catch, made an out and ran bases aggressively, which really helped Orbits build on their score.

Dampier were still the stronger team on the night. Shae Hawkes, hitting an early home run over the top of rightfield, and Ashleigh Fanetti also showed off some strong batting during the game.

All teams are looking for interested players.
