Young witches and wizards from Karratha and Dampier participated in the City of Karratha’s Wizarding World event to celebrate 20 years since the release of JK Rowling’s first Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

The popular school holiday event booked out in a matter of minutes when it was announced last month.

Twenty kids flew their broomsticks to Karratha Library on July 11. On July 14, 16 attended Dampier Library to celebrate the popular franchise’s anniversary.

Not even Hermione Granger, Lord Voldemort, Professor Snape, Dobby or Harry Potter himself could miss out on all the magical fun.

The sorting hat sorted the witches and wizards into their houses, Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, where they battled for the house cup by answering Harry Potter trivia.
