Safe hitting and excellent pitching saw the Orbits ladies take home the win over Sinners 1 in the softball competition last weekend.

Once again, Melinda Clarke proved she was the team pitcher.

With four strikeouts in the game, Clarke’s fast pitching challenged the Sinners 1 team and held those who could hit her to single base hits.

Tia Kemp’s two safe outfield hits brought runners home for Orbits.

Despite Narelle Walton coming home three times in the game for Sinners 1, the final score was 11-8 Orbits’ way.

Storm overcame some early jitters to win 11-7 against Wickham.

Wickham gained an early 7-0 lead with Christene Retchford pitching and pulling off an impressive catch for Wickham in the first dig. Storm gathered determination and had an awesome third innings, bringing 11 home with strong base running.

Courtney Busby played a great shortstop for Storm and was involved in a lot of the critical play that allowed Storm to take the win 11-7 on countback.

Sinners 2 left their run too late against Dampier, who took out the win 11-9.
