Foster makes strong de­but as Sin­ners teams meet

An ex­cit­ing and friendly game be­tween the Sin­ners ladies cer­tainly did not re­flect the score.

Sin­ners 2 started strongly and had the Sin­ners 1 team a lit­tle wor­ried.

Cass Foster joined the ladies from Sin­ners 1 for her first-ever game and showed ev­ery­one that de­spite be­ing new to the game, she was strong with the bat. Sin­ners 1’s Narelle Wal­ton pulled off two great home runs in the game, with two fab­u­lous catches from Leanne Khan play­ing at third.

Rhi­an­non Win­gate was very ac­tive at short­stop for Sin­ners 2 and played a de­ter­mined bat­ter as well. The ladies of Sin­ners 2 showed how far they had come with some great bat­ting and field­ing. How­ever, once the Sin­ners 1 team dug in deep, they took the game con­vinc­ingly, 22-6.

Tracey Reynolds made her come­back to the game worth­while in the Fal­cons ver­sus Geckos game. Af­ter not play­ing for six weeks, Reynolds ag­gres­sively hit the ball, fielded strongly and made a con­vinc­ing out at sec­ond base.

Natalie Manado was ex­cep­tion­ally strong at short­stop with two great double plays.

Fal­cons were also in­volved in an im­pres­sive double play with third base throw­ing to Gaz Clavert at first, who then threw off to Rebecca Basile at home, tak­ing two of Geckos’ chances.

Fal­cons’ Maddi Sopp fielded strongly, stop­ping the hard-hit­ting Ni­cole Derr with a throw to first. Fal­cons took the game, 13-3.

The Storm team started out how they in­tended to fin­ish, with first bat­ter of the game Nikki Brough hit­ting a home run against the Or­bits. Rea Hills played a slick double with a put-out at third and then throw­ing off to sec­ond to com­plete the double. Sharelle Clarke played well for Or­bits but the team fell to Storm, 13-1.
