Woman in park res­cue

A woman was res­cued from a gorge at Kar­i­jini Na­tional Park af­ter she lost her foot­ing and fell into a shal­low pool of water, hit­ting her head on a rock.

The woman, aged in her 60s, was lifted on a stretcher from the pool in Han­cock Gorge on Satur­day af­ter­noon and taken to Tom Price Hos­pi­tal.

Po­lice say the woman had stepped down into a pool of shal­low water and lost her foot­ing, caus­ing her to stum­ble for­ward and bump her head on a rock.

She suf­fered mi­nor con­cus­sion and graz­ing and was re­leased from hos­pi­tal on Mon­day.

Tom Price and New­man SES, Tom Price SES cadets, St John Am­bu­lance of­fi­cers and Parks and Wildlife rangers at­tended the scene.
