Drop international flight push
Regarding Qantas in discussions with regional airports and councils about reducing their airport charges which may enable further savings to be passed on to residents.
So now the acid is on Peter Long and the Karratha council.
Surely it would be a better outcome if we, as ratepayers, had a revenue-neutral position from the airport and subsequently lower fares domestically, than subsidising empty seats on a Singaporean flight that will fly no one anywhere. Especially so when one can already book a flight to Singapore via Perth for less than the flight to Perth.
We really don’t need international flights to an expensive island country if we can’t travel within our own island country.
