Oktoberfest cheer set to return
It’s time to dust off your dirndls and lederhosens because North West Oktoberfest is back for 2017.
Hedland and Karratha can experience a taste of Germany at Cattrall Park on Saturday, October 14, and at the Port Hedland Turf Club on Saturday, October 21.
Event organiser Bart Parsons said tickets were selling fast.
“Last year our capacity was 700, this year we have bumped it up to 1000. Collectively, Port Hedland and Karratha are 75 per cent sold,” he said.
North West Oktoberfest has proved very popular since its beginning in 2015.
The day will include German food and drinks, games, bands, entertainment and a silent disco.
“We are cooking a pig on a spit, plus there will be a few more games, local bands Bryan and Pete, Misguided and the Ten Deep DJs,” Mr Parsons said.
There will be prizes for best dressed individual and couple and a sausage-eating contest.
Costumes are available for purchase at Blanche Bar in Karratha.
Tickets are $39, include a $10 voucher and are available from Blanche Bar, Edge Surf, Cool Change, Stingaz Surf, North West Liquor or goo.gl/ktevf2.
