Pub­lic ap­peal to catch cabbie bash­ers

Kar­ratha po­lice are seek­ing in­for­ma­tion re­gard­ing a rob­bery and as­sault on a 53-year-old taxi driver last week­end.

Po­lice say the driver picked up three men on Bal­moral Road, near Warma­bie Road, about 10pm on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 21.

The driver stopped the taxi on Bal­moral Road, near Hyde Road, af­ter the men be­came ag­gres­sive when asked about pay­ment.

The men pulled the driver from the ve­hi­cle, as­saulted him and stole a sum of money be­fore flee­ing the area.

The taxi driver was treated at Nickol Bay Hos­pi­tal and re­ceived a pos­si­ble bro­ken arm.

One man is de­scribed as be­ing in his 30s with dark skin, a solid build and shaved head wear­ing a black t-shirt and sneak­ers.

The other two men are de­scribed as be­ing in their 20s with dark skin and solid builds. One had short curly hair. Any­one with in­for­ma­tion is urged to call Crime Stop­pers on 1800 333 000 or re­port in­for­ma­tion at crimestop­per­swa.com.au.
