Six linked to gang charged
Six people linked to the Mongrel Mob street gang are facing serious drugs charges after a police operation targeting the group in the Pilbara netted $500,000 worth of meth.
Detectives allegedly found 501g of meth in a car they stopped on North West Coastal Highway about 52km south of Karratha on October 19.
Two men in the car — Vaughn Selwyn, 27, and Michael Mare Hirini, 19 — were charged with possessing a trafficable amount of methylamphetamine with intent to sell or supply.
Six further police raids on Thursday resulted in the arrests of another four people after police allegedly found small quantities of meth, MDMA and cannabis at their properties.
Alleged president of the Mongrel Mob Karratha chapter Karauna Morgan Ripia, 25, has been charged with conspiring to sell or supply a prohibited drug other than methylamphetamine.
