Healthy funding for medical complex

Pinjarra Murray Times - - NEWS -

A CHEQUE for $1.87 million from LotteryWest brings funding for the Peel Youth Medical Services complex to almost $10 million.

The funding will kickstart construction on the one-stop shop, which will be built on a 3ha site on Allnut Street.

Mandurah MLA David Templeman said the funding was important and symbolic.

“This is a great example of three levels of government – Federal, State and local – working together,’’ he said.

“We are very fortunate to have LotteryWest which, unlike similar organisations in other states, returns everything to the community.”

Mr Templeman also paid tribute to City Councillor Dave Schumacher, who he said was passionate about mental health and the facility.

The first sod is expected to be turned in October and the complex in operation by early 2019.

Mandurah MLA David Templeman, Murray MLA Robyn Cooke, Eleanor Britton and Amanda Poller from GP Down South, and Cr Dave Schumacher at the site.
