Pinjarra Murray Times - - STREET WATCH - - Mandurah officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Stephen Thompson

IIn July and August Mandurah Local Policing Team launched a local action plan called Operation Copperbowl which targeted a specific area and specific individuals aimed at reducing the instance of burglary and stealing. You may have noticed your local police out and about in shopping centres, train station and the suburbs. We added four legs to our two, bringing in our canine and mounted section. Results have been positive, with multiple offenders apprehended for burglary and theft, property recovered and good seizures of drugs and weapons. Don’t worry further operations are planned. Crime statistics show the continuation of a fall in our rates of burglary, theft and stealing of motor vehicles. But don’t get complacent: lock doors and windows, close garages and secure property out of sight.
