Thunder strike late to overrun Sharks

Pinjarra Murray Times - - SPORT -

PEEL Thunder coach Cameron Shephard said his team had an OK first quarter, players fell asleep in the middle and then enjoyed a very good last quarter.

The way the players rallied ensured their victory against East Fremantle.

“They led in the third quarter by five or six goals,” Shephard said.

“We went to work to gain the ascendancy in the ruck.

“We were aggressive and had an attacking style.

“We got the rewards and kicked seven goals in the last quarter. “We got over the line.” Shephard said it would be an interesting game on Saturday when Peel take on South Fremantle.

“We play South Freo in the last game and the following week play them again in the first qualifying round,” he said.

“We will prepare and hope we don’t get any injuries.”

Shephard conceded that Peel have a bit of work to do if they were to make the grand final and win the premiership.

“We’ve got a chance,” he said. 1.1 2.2 3.2 2.4 8.5 3.4 8.7 10.8
