RANGER IS TOP SELLER
TOYOTA last week stopped producing cars in Australia and Holden will do the same from next week.
Those developments had quite an effect on September car sales.
Camry and Commodore sales rose as buyers snapped up the last of the locally-built models, but the overall market was down 2.4 per cent nationally and 3.1 per cent in Western Australia.
Toyota remained the best selling brand, followed by Mazda, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Holden and Ford.
But overall individual model honours went to Ford Ranger, which unseated HiLux for the first time.
Next came Toyota Corolla, Mazda3, Commodore and Hyundai i30.
The big Ford Ranger was Australia's top-seller in September.
