Do­na­tions bring light to Shadow’s life

A DOG with no hope was given a sec­ond chance at life thanks to Man­durah’s Peek­a­boo Doggy Day Care and K9 Refuge.

Shadow, a three-year-old rot­tweiler, was put up for adop­tion on Gumtree as her own­ers could not af­ford the surgery to fix her cru­ci­ate lig­a­ments. With­out the surgery Shadow would be des­tined to live life in con­stant pain or face be­ing put down.

Kevin Borg­onah from K9 Refuge was alerted to Shadow’s plight.

Ja­nine Pace from Peek­a­boo or­gan­ised a fundraiser, which gath­ered more than $3000.

Dr Michael Gibbs at Green­field’s Vet­eri­nary fixed Shadow’s knees on Oc­to­ber 25.

Green­field’s Vet­eri­nary dis­counted the cost of the op­er­a­tion down from $12,000.

Shadow will be in re­cov­ery for the next three months while be­ing cared for by a vol­un­teer.

Shadow is on the mend af­ter surgery to fix her cru­ci­ate lig­a­ments.
