AWARD-win­ning coun­try mu­sic artists Am­ber Lawrence and Travis Collins came to­gether af­ter 13 years of friend­ship to cre­ate an EP that cap­tures the essence of be­ing Aus­tralian – Our Back­yard.

The pair ap­pear at the Ravenswood Ho­tel next month.

Hav­ing per­formed to­gether many times since strik­ing up a friend­ship in 2004 at the Col­lege of Coun­try Mu­sic, both artists agreed it was time for true col­lab­o­ra­tion: not just duets but a dou­ble vo­cal ap­proach.

“With our own ca­reers es­tab­lished we have the free­dom to do the fun projects,’’ Lawrence said.

Collins agreed and said the EP was a fun and re­fresh­ing project.

The 2015 Fe­male Artist of the Year and 2015 and 2016 CMC Fe­male Oz Artist of the Year is hot off the heels of pro­mot­ing her fifth stu­dio, Happy Ever Af­ter, tour­ing with Cather­ine Britt.

Collins is rid­ing the wave of an amaz­ing 2017, win­ning three Golden Gui­tars and three CMC awards this year, in­clud­ing Male Artist of the Year.
