A TEENAGER who jumped a fence at a leavers party in Dunsborough to punch another teen has been fined $1000.

Beau Joseph Michon (18) pleaded guilty to common assault when he appeared in Mandurah Magistrates Court earlier this month.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Mick Fallows said the victim, also 18, was waiting in a queue for a ride with a friend at a leavers party called “The Zone” on November 23 last year.

He heard someone shout at him “Oi you c***, we have things to sort out” and realised it was Michon who had shouted. The victim chose to ignore Michon.

Michon then jumped over a fence and punched the victim in the face, causing him to double over and suffer dizziness and a minor concussion.

Defence lawyer Margaret McNulty said accusations were made to Michon by the victim at the time and her client reacted to them.

She said Michon was not intoxicated at the time and felt “extreme remorse”.

“It’s inexplicable you acted that way,” Magistrate Anne Longden said and fined Michon $1000, but granted him a spent conviction on the basis he was young and had no previous record.
