Sym­po­sium on feral cat is­sue

AUS­TRALIA’S lead­ing re­searchers and con­ser­va­tion groups as well as mem­bers of the State Govern­ment will gather at Man­durah Per­form­ing Arts Cen­tre on Thurs­day to dis­cuss the is­sue of feral cats. The Feral Cat Sym­po­sium will ex­plore cur­rent ex­pe­ri­ence and in­no­va­tive fu­ture tech­niques for feral cat con­trol. Ac­cord­ing to Charles Dar­win Univer­sity pro­fes­sor John Woinarski, stud­ies sug­gest more than 900 mil­lion na­tive an­i­mals were killed by feral cats ev­ery year. State Govern­ment rep­re­sen­ta­tives will talk about leg­is­la­tion and reg­u­la­tions which af­fect feral cat con­trol in WA.
