Lighting up for charity
THE lights on the Mandurah Bridge have proved a hit since they were first turned on.
Lit every night in different colours, they add a new dimension of fun to Mandurah.
Now the City of Mandurah is making it possible for charitable organisations to book the lights to help promote a special event or appeal.
In most cases it will be free but the costs would have to be passed on if a special program needed to be created.
Mayor Rhys Williams said it was a great use of the bridge.
“I love the idea that the City can help put charities up in lights,’’ he said.
There are a few rules such as bookings will not be accepted for commercial advertising purposes.
