Police on case after child dies
HOMICIDE Squad Detectives are investigating the death of a one-year-old boy.
Police attended following baby Nathaniel’s death on Sunday at a residence in Golden Bay.
A 25-year-old Mandurah man was charged after he allegedly assaulted the child when he was six weeks old in 2017.
The infant was taken to Narrogin Regional Hospital on October 9, 2017, with injuries he had received.
He was transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital but was released.
Michael Ashley Macrae, who was known to the child, was charged with aggravated grievous bodily harm and has appeared in Narrogin and Mandurah magistrates courts. He pleaded not guilty and is next due in Perth District Court on November 23 for a trial listing hearing.
Investigations into the child’s death continue.
