Heroin fa­ther feels re­morse

A MAN found passed out in Man­durah Fo­rum at 9.30am was fined $800 for heroin pos­ses­sion. Blake Michael Dodds pleaded guilty to pos­sess­ing a pro­hib­ited drug and pos­sess­ing drug para­pher­na­lia when he ap­peared in Man­durah Mag­is­trates Court on Fri­day. Po­lice pros­e­cu­tor Mick Fal­lows said se­cu­rity called po­lice when they found Dodds passed out on Oc­to­ber 2. Po­lice found 0.29g of heroin on Dodds and a sy­ringe with a cloudy sub­stance in it. Dodds told the court his part­ner had bro­ken up with him and he was numb­ing the pain. Dodds said he had a prob­lem with heroin but had not used for three weeks. He said this in­ci­dent was a wake-up call and he wanted to be the fa­ther his daugh­ter de­served.
