Serving up something decent, but not special

This blisteringly fast mix of ultimate Frisbee and tennis should be multiplayer heaven, but finicky controls and a paucity of modes currently keep this arcade sports curio from greatness. Matches are short bursts of action that demand simple controls with hidden depths, but it’s just a little too complex to consistently hit that sweet spot. For instance, you can curve the disc’s flight by twirling the left stick immediately after your throw, but the timing window is so small, getting a precise arc feels more like magic than science. It’s a good enough premise that there’s some enjoyment to be had from long rallies and tense matches, but with only singles and doubles matches to pick between, there’s little longevity to keep you coming back.
VERDICT
The core of a good idea is let down by a lack of structure and irregular, finicky controls that hinder accessibility, but it’s not without charm. Ben Tyrer
