The number of lunchtimes that flew by due to this game during my time on the Official PlayStation 1 Magazine is astounding. We’d always be able to squeeze in a few (heated) games regardless of workload. Pro Evo always happened, and with good reason. This was miles ahead of FIFA at the time. The passing was tight, the shooting was snappy, the commentary was, er… Anyway, moving on. While the game has lost its good looks, it still plays remarkably well, although I did find myself hankering for the analogue passing of today’s games. Until I first played this, I wasn’t even into football, but ISS Pro Evolution Soccer 2 made me a believer, at least in the digital sense, and if a game can do that, it truly is something special.
