Deep sea anger

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FEEDBACK -

YOU remind us that the Labor Party has put off any decision regarding the declaration of a Coral Sea Marine Park before the election to avoid angering the deep-sea anglers.

This type of indecisive spin is more likely to alienate everyone than appease the few who fish beyond the Great Barrier Reef.

Tony Abbott on the other hand, is very decisive - he is going to rid us of all plans for new marine parks.

This does not inspire the rest of us in the electorate who depend on tourism for a living and/or care about the future of the planet and protecting all that lives on it. It’s called sustainability.

We are faced with a choice between bad and worse this time around. I’m opting out.
