ALAN Harper hit some form early last week, taking out the men’s Tuesday Stableford competition with 41 points ahead of Ian Prewett on 40 points. Art Howard was third with 40 points also. Ron Mendez won Wednesday’s nine hole Sporters’ competition after a count back for 21 points to Adam Ferguson. Greg Walker was third with 20 and Barry Costain collected nearest the pin on 13. Practice paid off for Leonnie Phillips, who was in hot form on Thursday taking the ladies Stableford competition with 45 points. Kate Brims was in second place with 39 points and Julie Hooker third with 37. Nearest the pins were Ellen Clark on 6, Gayle Healey on 13 and Lucy Giles on 8 and 10. Dan Hober collected the cash on Friday winning the Rum Run with 21 points. Les Minotti proved himself again this week, taking out the men’s division one on Saturday with 40 points. Steven Gray was a close second with 39 points. In division two Tano Caltabiano hit form scoring 43 points to win by a shot to Adam Freguson on 42 points. Art Howard won nearest the pin on 13 and Peter Glasson won 17. The Saturday ladies’ competition was won by Peggy Joel with a brilliant 44 points. Jenny Rowell was second with 42 points and Yvonne Johnstone third with 39 points. Nearest the pins were Peggy on 8, Lyn Heimann on 13 and Glenda Christensen on 17. Elizabeth Henry was too good on Sunday scoring 43 points to win by seven shots to playing partner Jenny Cover. Wayne Baxter won nearest the pins on both 8 and 10.
