Satisfied customer welcomes smile

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

I WANTED to share my customer experiences bad and good regarding the same problem but different grocery shops in Port Douglas.

I work and live locally but only moved to the area 18 months ago.

I have bought meat from Coles on numerous occasions within the “use by dates” but it was “gone-bad” when opened, so I kept the packaging and brought it back to get a refund.

Each time I do get a refund but no apology, making excuses as to why this happened or accusing my fridge for not working properly.

The staff look at me in disbelief that I’m lying about the product. As I said this has happened numerous times to me and I know of other customers this has happened to also.

The same thing happened to me recently in IGA, and my experience was completely different and may I say they “delighted” me.

I got the product exchanged and a full refund for the product and an apology twice at the time of the complaint over the phone and an apology in person when I returned the product.

After these experiences I have tried to avoid Coles and now do my weekly groceries shop in IGA.

I want to say thanks to the staff at IGA it’s good to know some businesses look out for customers.
