Tourism Australia bosses in town
LOCAL business owners and operators will be able to quiz the country’s highest tourism officials when they visit the region next week.
Tourism Australia managing director Andrew McEvoy along with TA senior market managers Richard Beer, Matt Cameron Smith and Jim Jones will attend an open forum in Port Douglas after being invited to address local businesses by Tourism Port Douglas Daintree executive officer Doug Ryan.
Mr Ryan said the visit was a great opportunity for operators to engage first-hand with questions and answers with Tourism Australia’s most senior staff.
“The visit is a result of an invitation we recently issued to Andrew McEvoy to see and hear how our member operators are faring in the current global tourism slump,” Mr Ryan said.
“We are delighted that he not only accepted the invitation to visit our region, but that he is bringing with him senior market managers.
“This is a very valuable opportunity for dialogue with the country’s highest level tourism officials.”
The open forum will be held at Sea Temple Resort and Spa on August 18 from 2pm.
The presentations will conclude at 5pm and there will be a cash bar for a networking session. To register attendance, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
