PORT Douglas Hockey Club held round two of the Series Four Champions Trophy games on Sunday.
The first contest at Port Douglas State School saw Black Magic take on Blue Thunder, with both teams determined to win after being defeated in round one.
Fast and free-flowing hockey by both teams left the sides 1-1 at half time after goals to Charlotte Richardson for Thunder and Suzy Bestwick for Magic.
In the second half, Black Magic took the victory 4-1 thanks to great play from Daisy Hawkes, Jack Anderson and Graeme Stringer.
The second game of the day saw White Lightning triumph over the Red Devils by a massive margin, 8-1.
The superior forward strike-power of the Lightning left the Devils reeling despite determined resistance by Luca Hayman-King, Liam Edwards and Tara Stanway.
Skilful defence by Bronwyn Caltobiano for the Lightning held the Devils to a single goal scored by Wini Heatley.
Next week, White Lightning takes on Blue Thunder at 3.30pm and Black Magic will play Red Devils at 4.30pm.
