PORT Dou­glas Hockey Club held round two of the Se­ries Four Cham­pi­ons Tro­phy games on Sun­day.

The first con­test at Port Dou­glas State School saw Black Magic take on Blue Thun­der, with both teams de­ter­mined to win af­ter be­ing de­feated in round one.

Fast and free-flow­ing hockey by both teams left the sides 1-1 at half time af­ter goals to Char­lotte Richardson for Thun­der and Suzy Best­wick for Magic.

In the sec­ond half, Black Magic took the vic­tory 4-1 thanks to great play from Daisy Hawkes, Jack An­der­son and Graeme Stringer.

The sec­ond game of the day saw White Light­ning tri­umph over the Red Devils by a mas­sive mar­gin, 8-1.

The su­pe­rior for­ward strike-power of the Light­ning left the Devils reel­ing de­spite de­ter­mined re­sis­tance by Luca Hay­man-King, Liam Ed­wards and Tara Stanway.

Skil­ful de­fence by Bronwyn Cal­to­biano for the Light­ning held the Devils to a sin­gle goal scored by Wini Heat­ley.

Next week, White Light­ning takes on Blue Thun­der at 3.30pm and Black Magic will play Red Devils at 4.30pm.
