THE Douglas Arts Base’s newest exhibition, Out of the Blue brings together two local artists working in acrylics with a variety of styles and subject matter.

It features the work of two promising artists, Terry Delaney and Michaela Bohm, whose acrylic paintings are varied in both subject matter and style.

Terry arrived in Far North Queensland in 1997 from England, bringing with her a love of football (the round ball variety) and recently competed with distinction in the Masters Games in Sydney.

“I had no interest in artistic pursuits at all, until a friend harassed me into joining DAB in 2008”, she said.

“From that time I have become a dedicated painter, eager to try new ideas.”

Michaela’ s interest in art started whilst growing up in her native Germany, where portraits were a major choice, but the later responsibilities of study, raising a family plus business interests put her talents on hold.

The exhibitiqon runs from Friday, August 20 to Sunday, August 29 at DAB, 11 Mill St in Mossman.

After the opening at 7pm tomorrow, featuring Tableland artist Kerri Redding, the exhibition will be open 10am - 2pm weekdays, and 10am - noon on weekends.
