MARION Blunsdon is a valued member of the Meals on Wheels team. These days Marion relieves in the kitchen and delivers meals to clients. She began volunteering in New Guinea where she taught school for 17 years with after-school activities. Marion is also a member of the Country Women’s Association and ran the Johnston Rd CWA store after moving to Mossman. She became heavily involved in supporting the indigenous community, providing lunches for $1 for the children and getting to know the families to help them with budgeting. While employed by Goobidi as a youth co-ordinator, Marion volunteered afterhours to provide tutoring and counselling and also helped out with numeracy and literacy schemes. “I derive great pleasure and satisfaction out of mixing with people of different abilities and interests,” she said.
