MAR­ION Bluns­don is a val­ued mem­ber of the Meals on Wheels team. These days Mar­ion re­lieves in the kitchen and delivers meals to clients. She be­gan vol­un­teer­ing in New Guinea where she taught school for 17 years with af­ter-school ac­tiv­i­ties. Mar­ion is also a mem­ber of the Coun­try Women’s As­so­ci­a­tion and ran the Johnston Rd CWA store af­ter mov­ing to Moss­man. She be­came heav­ily in­volved in sup­port­ing the in­dige­nous com­mu­nity, pro­vid­ing lunches for $1 for the chil­dren and get­ting to know the fam­i­lies to help them with bud­get­ing. While em­ployed by Goobidi as a youth co-or­di­na­tor, Mar­ion vol­un­teered af­ter­hours to pro­vide tu­tor­ing and coun­selling and also helped out with nu­mer­acy and lit­er­acy schemes. “I de­rive great plea­sure and sat­is­fac­tion out of mix­ing with peo­ple of dif­fer­ent abil­i­ties and in­ter­ests,” she said.
